Friends Cut

I hope that my child[ren], looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
I've been debating about this for awhile now. I don't want to cut anyone, because I honestly like and am "invested" into each and every one of you on my friends list. I've found myself skimming entries lately, though, and that's not fair to you - to have a "friend" who can't keep up with what's going on in your life. I'm afraid, though, that until things settle a little, I need to cut some of my long-posters.
Please, please, please don't be offended by this. I'm hoping that you will have it in your heart to let me ask back on your lists when more free time is allotted me. However, that won't be for quite awhile, it seems, and my kids need me a lot more than my computer does. Know that I will still be thinking of you guys often - especially my friends that are expecting new little ones in the near future. I hope to still keep up on what's going on with you in communities we're both in when I have time to check in there.
I'm going to leave this up until about midweek, then take it down due to our lovely internet stalkers who have nothing better to do than follow us around. If you want/need more info about the cut, don't hesitate to email.
Thanks

Date: 2007-04-04 06:36 am (UTC)It could be either of those things, honestly. Both of my kids were/are breastfed on demand. My 2 year old NEVAH slept through the night until he was just about a year old - in fact, the first time was the week he turned one. If he woke up and needed to go back to bed, it was time to nurse. And he co-slept with us until 9+ months (then was in his crib across the hall until he woke up and I'd pull him into the twin in his room and co-sleep the rest of the night). He was also a LEISURELY nurser - taking up to 45 minutes to finish his day-time feedings. At night, he'd prefer to stay on all night long.
Mikki - totally different baby. She's an "efficient" nurser. She eats for 5-7 minutes and is done. She rarely eats more often than every 2.5-3 hours. Tonight, it was going on 11:30 and she was still up (she's usually down for the night by 11 at the latest - but she sleeps late, too). I said enough, took her back, laid her down awake and patted her back a couple times and left. She's still asleep and probably won't wake until about 3:30-4. Yesterday, I nursed her and laid her back down in the cosleeper and she went right back to sleep.
The reason I tell you this is because I've done nothing different with either baby. THEY are what was different. (I'm gonna continue in the next comment so that I don't run out of space... sorry I'm wordy.)
